Strensall Care Home Completion

14th Nov 24

Walter Thompson are pleased to announce the recent completion of Goldsborough Manor, for Crown Care. This impressive build is tucked away in the village of Strensall, providing a peaceful environment for its residents, while only a short journey from the bustling city of York.

Goldsborough Manor was constructed on a brownfield site previously occupied by another care facility, which was demolished prior to development. The building is designed across three storeys, externally featuring natural stone. On the second storey you will find ‘Betty’s Bar’, named after the famous Yorkshire tearooms, and includes a terrace that looks out onto the secure landscaped garden, which has been dotted with ornamental furniture and paved patio areas for outdoor relaxation.

The home offers an abundance of recreational and wellness facilities, including multiple communal lounges, bar, café & dining areas, a hair dressing salon, library, and cinema, to mention a few. Many of the areas are named after famous York locations, such as ‘Shambles Hair Salon,’ ‘Clifton Bar & Bistro’, and ‘Haxby Restaurant’.

Residents are encouraged to live independently, however 24-hour care and support is readily available. The home also includes designated Dementia Zones within the corridors, designed to stimulate memories and support those individuals living with dementia.

This project was completed in just over a year, and we’d like to commend everyone involved for their outstanding efforts in bringing this fantastic development to life.
