Walter Thompson have recently completed refurbishment works on a care home in Ashton-under-Lyne for Exemplar Health Care.

The care home has laid dormant for a number of years, but after recent renovations and remodelling works, has now been transformed back to life and boasts 22 bedrooms.

The site is located in a densely populated residential area with a large mosque and commercial businesses opposite the development site and a primary school close by. There is also a local park in the vicinity of the site.

Externally, we have created two secure courtyard spaces with seating areas and raised bed planters for residents to grow vegetables and herbs.

Internally, each bedroom has its own private en-suite wet room and there are numerous communal Lounges and Dining Rooms, a Hair Dressing Salon, two assisted bathrooms and an activities hub.

Traffic management has been key on this project in order to keep the surrounding area and roads clear of site traffic as much as possible.
