Walter Thompson are thrilled to announce that one of our private residential projects has been awarded the LABC Building Excellence Award for Best Individual Home (North East).

This beautiful courtyard home perfectly combines sustainability with a sleek Scandinavian design. We worked closely with the Architects to ensure the use of natural materials such as wood and glass, seamlessly blending the building into the stunning courtyard garden it surrounds.

Local Authority Building Control (LABC) represent all local authority building control teams in England and Wales. LABC teams are independent, impartial and not for profit. They work with property owners, architects, developers and building contractors to ensure buildings are safe, inclusive, efficient and meet all standards.

Chief Executive for LABC, Lorna Simpson, said: “The LABC awards are unique because it just celebrates everything that is excellent in construction. I’m so excited about it. It’s a massive change for the whole construction industry and a chance to celebrate and reward all of the incredible projects across England and Wales.”

As the winner for Best Individual Home (North East), the Jesmond property will now be put forward for the national awards which will be announced at a glamorous awards ceremony held at Grosvenor House, London, in January 2025.
